Spring Is Here

GfruitWell Sort Of.

Spring Training has begun and I couldn’t be happier. This Fish are off to a 3-0 start with some strong pitching and timely hitting. Today’s game is all but over and it looks to be a shutout for their third win of the spring. I can’t really say much about how everyone is looking because it is just way too early. The good news is that this team is coming out to play and play hard. It’s one of the benefits of having a young team…they haven’t earned their big pay day yet and have to showcase their best stuff. Another reason why I love college sports, but that’s another post.

Looks like Japan and Korea will be moving on from Pool A. I haven’t seen any of the games yet which is a shame, but I’m looking forward to watch the other Pools just because it’s closer to home. It bothers me that I still occasionally read something negative about this tournament. Give it a rest already, it’s fun and exciting for most of us. Play for the U.S. begins on March 7.

Fat_scale My Spring Training

As far as the getting in shape thing is going, in just a couple of weeks I have lost about 14 pounds. Not including last night when I went out and binged, I’ve been eating great and exercising daily. I’m still far from where I want to be but I’m on the right track and will continue to do this for as long as I need to…which is in my mind a lifestyle change and always being conscious of what I’m eating and my activity level.

Comingsoon Everything Else

I’d like to do a little blog side project called Deep Fried Blogs. I want to start off with a few sports related blogs and possibly move into other catagories as well, ie., Politics, Comedy, Entertainment, etc. If anyone is interested in doing another blog, you can email me at chefbob@marlinbaseball.com or you can answer here and we can chat. Dont’ forget, if you need hosting, domain names, web site builders or anything else to get an online presense, check out Deep Fried Internet.

I also have officially purchased my tickets to see the Mets & Marlins April 9 at Shea. We plan on taking tons of pictures and I’ll post a journal of the event. Looks to be a great time, plus I get to finally meet a good online friend in person for the first time.
